Mohamed Chabarik
Born in Aleppo (Syria) August 25th 1978. Before coming to Italy (September 2001), he worked in craft sector planning and building luminous signs; he also designed local handicrafts (inlaid wood, blown glass and furniture clothes). Since 2002 till 2005 he attended the “Mosaicisti del Friuli” school in Spilimbergo (PN) getting the certificate as a teacher of mosaic. During that period (2004) he cooperated with the association Together for Casso in preparing the exhibition Mosaic Between the Sacred and the Profane, involving more than twenty mosaic workers and using the historical setting of Casso (PN), a village which has been almost abandoned after the Vajont disaster. In 2005 he took part in the competition "Bergolo paese di pietra 2005" (Cuneo, Piemonte), where he won the first prize with the work “Foglia di vita”.
