Luigi Benzoni
Luigi Benzoni was born in Clusone (Bergamo), Italy in 1956. He has been living in Venice since 1976 where he first studied at the University of Venice, School of Architecture, specialising in Art History. Painter by vocation, in Venice he found endless sources of inspiration for a personal investigation towards a figurative stylistic identity with time, his brush strokes became stronger, more expressive, the colours darker and more contrasting.
As he matured artistically, he began to move towards the human figure, particularly the human face as a synthesis of force and sensual abandon.

The human figure is obsessively present in his works, particularly the anxious and restless face of a man who seems to have lost the notion of his own being. The unavoidable encounter of the Murano glass and its Maestri adds three-dimensional depth and transparency to his figures, which become more enigmatic. Since 1974 he has presented his work in his own studio and in various public and private galleries, in Italy and abroad.
